With a split system installation we connect your existing electric geyser to a roof-mounted solar collector. You keep your geyser, your timer and your electric back-up — all we add is the sun.
Your existing thermostat and timer continue to work as normal. On a typical sunny day the solar collector heats the water in your geyser well above the set temperature, so the element never switches on. On cloudy or rainy days the element kicks in automatically as a back-up — so you always have hot water.
